Button Tuesday

   Sunday Margi and I had a "playdate". I dusted off my stamping and card making supplies. Wow, It's been a while. My creative mojo had cobwebs!
   Margi gave me an early birthday present. The sweeeetest set of stamps! Button cards; yep, shut-up! Button cards! Yippee, That's right, Button cards.
  We played for hours and I just love this set of stamps. I left all my crap supplies out on a table in my family room and played most of the day on Monday. Happy Presidents' day to me! So, do you want to see what I created? TaDa!

    I stole borrowed the frame from Mr. Wonderful, he had Zippo lighters in it????? I stamped the cards with my B day present and mounted modern black glass buttons on each card. Sooo pretty.

Button it up Tuesday!

    Yesterday was button study. I had missed the January meeting and I can't tell you how I missed this group of wonderful women!

     We mounted buttons on a picture of a flower arrangement. I left my camera at home so I didn't get a picture of each one but they were amazing. I finished mine at home this morning and here are the results: 

Toto, we are not in Florida anymore! or there's no place like home!

We took an extended vacation in Florida and North Carolina. I say extended because I had booked a condo for 2 weeks, when we got there it was so nice that Mr. Wonderful and his mother conned talked me into taking another week. Mr. Wonderful and I were homesick after week 2!
    When we left Florida finally we stopped at Mr. Wonderful's sisters in North Carolina. His sister,Jane came with her son, daughter and grandson to visit. We had a wonderful visit! That little guy was adorable!
    We are all ready to leave the next morning and someone checks the weather forcast. Not good. So, we stay with Ted and Diane 3 more nights.Now if you are going to get stranded somewhere, Diane's is the place to be. She has an amazing sewing studio behind her house and I just happened to have my sewing machine with me.I also had a bottle of wine and we soon discovered wine and sewing are not a good combination. When sewing under the influence a seam ripper is your best friend. We did talk and laugh. The wine only had a positive effect on that.
    We arrived at home on Thursday evening to find everything covered in ice. Why did we leave Florida? Oh yea, I was homesick! Someone should have told me to get over myself.

   We had a wonderful vacation, my mother-in-law got to go to Florida for her 88th birthday, and we got home safely. There's no place like home even if it is covered with ice!

The halls are decked! Now just a little more tweeking! The family room got changed up a little this year. I saved this limb early this spring. I hid it behind my garden shed, Mr. Wonderful carried it to the burn pile, I brought it back. I explained that I had an idea?:{_ Ideas strike fear in the heart of Mr. Wonderful. So after spray painting the perfect pot and setting the limb in cement, Mr. Wonderful somehow got my "idea"  inside.

This blue and white tree made it's debut in our newly decorated bedroom.

Mr. Wonderful painted a truck load of second hand furniture. This corner curio is my favorite piece and is the first thing you see when you enter the bedroom.

Blue has been my favorite color for as long as I can remember. Blue calms me and makes me happy. I am sure Mr. Wonderful needs a place to get away from all that pink fru-fru!

I tried to feel guilty about how long it had been since I had blogged! I really did! The truth of the matter is that I have just been having too much fun. This summer has gone so fast and we have crammed it full! We just got home from Savannah, Georgia on Friday. We were gone ten days and we had a blast!  Our son, Shannon travels to Savannah for business quite often and we were going to Tybee Island and Savannah on vacation. Shannon and Crystal flew in on Friday and we picked them up at the airport. We stayed on Tybee Island until Sunday night and then went in to Savannah. Shannon worked Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Crystal and I shopped. Mr. Wonderful golfed and made sure everyone had a great time. We walked a lot. I have never walked so much in my life! It's a good thing, because I have never ate so much in my life! Such amazing food!

From almost anywhere in Savanna you can see this bridge. This was the view from our hotel window. We drove across it and I got butterflies. It felt like we were going up on a rollercoaster. Very steep!

My favorite part of this vacation was getting to spend quality time with Crystal and Shannon! We love them so much and are so proud of them. We have often said that we would want them as friends even if they were not family. How lucky we are that they are both! Check back soon , I will show you some of the "treasures" I found.
