A new baby! YEA!

Sunday Crystal had a baby shower for my niece Tiffany and her precious little Jayce. I made a few decorations from tissue paper and scrapbook paper.

The banner will be hanging in his nursery at home.

Now for the main attraction; Jayce. He was beyond adorable. So darn cute. We cuddled and passed him all day! I must admit I had him a little more than my share. What can I say? He was the best baby.

Where did last week go?

What happened to last week? It is just a blur! I have an etsy shop, I sold an apron, button study, retired librarian's luncheon, on and on, blah blah blah! Oh yea, and a migraine! Did I mention Mr. Wonderful has Bronchitis?

He is on the mend! I may be beyond mending! On Friday I decided to do some spring cleaning. Now one of my sweet friends told me only old people spring clean. I'm officially old and have been all my life. Just an old soul. Anyway, this would be our island with nothing on it. Look close it doesn't happen often!

Mr. Wonderful built this island from a picture out of a magazine. Magazines strike fear in his heart because he knows where there is a magazine there are ideas. I love the book shelves on each end. More room for more treasures!

The silver is an accidental collection. I don't know how it happened officer! (maybe a picture in a magazine) OK My name is Robin and I am a magazinaholic. Romantic Homes and Victoria are my cocktail of choice. I need a 12 step program, an intervention and another issue!

So I cleaned off the island and decorated it for Easter. Mark that off my list.

Mr. Wonderful has a strong urge to bite the ears off of these bunnies!

My bucket list

This Sunday I was able to mark one thing off of my bucket list. No I did not jump out of a moving airplane! I have an Etsy shop! Oh how I dreamed of this day. My own little shop to sell some of the sweet little things I make, so that I can buy more fabric and make more sweet things. Sounds like a vicious circle doesn't it!

First I must thank my photographer, my lovely daughter-in-law Crystal, she shot and edited a zillion pictures. Our little model ,who made Crystal's job much easier, worked the camera. Thank you Addy! You rock!

Last but not least my ever so patient son, Shannon, the family computer expert that we use and abuse. I love you all more than you can possibly comprehend.

I can't believe it! I have an Etsy shop. Yea! I am still doing the happy dance!

Road trip

Margi and I took an overnight road trip Thursday and Friday. We left Galion and headed southwest to Mt. Victory. We left our mark on a number of Antique stores in the area.

We then went northwest to Van Wert. It was there that I found 26 National button bulletins dating back to 1950. The National Button society was started in 1938. I paid less than a dollar each for the bulletins.

The articles in the bulletins are very interesting to this button floozy!

I found a silverplated pitcher for Mr. Wonderful to polish. He is the official silver polisher.

This is a childs vintage apron. Roses, couldn't resist!

This apron was made for an older child. It will fit My Morgan.

I love the back of this apron and will use it as a pattern.

I couldn't resist the cover of this small book. Perfect for an altered art project. The book was written in 1895. There are wonderful illustrations inside.

I read a lot about Helen Keller when I was a child. I was amazed and amused by her! This book she wrote in 1903.
After Van Wert we backtracked to Lima and spent the night. There is a Hobby Lobby, Joann fabrics, scrapbooking store and TJMaxx in the same strip mall. I ain't lyin! For real. I kid you not. We had a late dinner at Applebees and headed to the room to watch Idol and read button bulletins. I know you wish you were me right now, don't you?
The next morning we found the GW then headed toFindlay to Jeffrey's antique gallery. That place kicked my PYQ! You need 2 days, a power nap and lots of carbs to see all there is to see! We left there and headed for Bettsville. A fabric store called the Door Mouse was there.

I scream, you scream, we'll all scream for ice cream! Oh! The delicious apron I will make from this.

This fabric begged to come home with me.

My Favorite in the whole world was this! Buttons! Do you believe your eyes! SWEET!

That takes some doing because there is hardly room to move in that place. Fabric everywhere!

Margi and I both were in a fabric coma by then so we headed home! Exhausted I say! That shopping will kill you. Happy hunting! Robin

What's cooking?

Not me! If this "sweet" apron doesn't make you want to cook you must be related to me!

I finished it this morning. I love the fabrics and colors together. The fabric came from Millers dry goods in Amish country. Go figure? Amish and hot shoes? not so much!

Anyway, the fabric begged to come home with me. How could I say no when all my sweet girls are shoe floozies. Yes Kathy, that includes you!

Objects of desire! A girl can never have enough shoes.

If I did cook this would be the apron of choice!

Tallulah insisted that I introduce you to Fifi. Fifi came to Ohio from Paris, or was that Home Goods in Columbus. She now serves tea daily in our family room.

She is happy in her corner next to the wonderful find that Mr. Wonderful painted for me. After he painted it I decoupaged roses and bows on the front.

Soon I will show you some of the eye candy inside. The small green cabinet came from an antique mall south of Columbus. It was already painted green. I just added the roses and rubbed a little gold paint on the edges. It holds all my back issues of Romantic Homes and Victoria magazines. I hope you enjoyed a peek in our happy home. I am blessed!
